About this camp

In this hands-on AI and machine learning workshop, high school students will actively build artificial intelligence rather than just learning about it. Participants will explore how AI models learn from data and gain practical experience using Python-based tools. The curriculum includes trying out generative AI and developing an original idea for an AI-powered application. Students will construct a machine learning model using web-based tools, integrate generative AI for creative elements, and combine these into an interactive application using Python and Scratch. A key focus is understanding the 'human in the loop' approach, where human input guides AI systems through reviewing predictions, correcting errors, and making final decisions. The program also emphasizes responsible AI practices, covering fairness, transparency, data privacy, and the societal impact of AI. By the end of the workshop, students will possess practical coding skills and a critical mindset for building creative, trustworthy, and value-aligned AI systems, culminating in a project they can be proud of.
