About this camp

Urban Workshop's Summer Camps offer a hands-on learning experience where students aged 10-16 engage with both traditional and modern tools in a real makerspace environment. Participants undertake projects in mechanics, design, fabrication, textiles, electronics, and woodworking. For example, in Level 1, students build BMX bikes, custom shirts, a light-up marquee star, a toolbox, and a race car, learning to safely use hand tools, digital design software, and basic electronics. As they progress through the four levels, they are introduced to more advanced tools and techniques such as power tools, machine operation, welding, jewelry making, 3D design, Arduino programming, and laser etching. The program aims to develop foundational maker skills, creativity, problem-solving abilities, and confidence with various fabrication techniques, allowing students to take home their completed projects.
