About this camp

Junior Space Explorer camp invites children to embark on a galactic journey through hands-on astronomy projects. Campers will experiment with screaming balloon rockets, utilize solar glasses for safe observation, and construct star finders to navigate the night sky. They will also engage in building telescopes and launching rockets, fostering an understanding of physics and engineering principles. The curriculum includes creating a glow-in-the-dark model of Saturn, designing UV bracelets, building a sundial, and modeling the solar system. Through these activities, children develop scientific inquiry skills, problem-solving abilities, and a lasting curiosity about space and aviation. The camp aims to bridge the gap between childhood wonder and scientific exploration by connecting NASA missions to interactive experiments, encouraging resilience, curiosity, and teamwork.
