In the Club SciKidz Orange County AI Technology / ChatBot Programming camp, middle schoolers delve into the fascinating world of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. Utilizing visual programming environments like Scratch and specialized AI training tools, campers learn the fundamental concepts of how computers "think" and recognize patterns and language. The curriculum focuses on the "Three Steps of ML": Collecting Data, Training a Model, and Testing, providing a hands-on understanding of how AI distinguishes between images, text, and sounds. Students will develop their own personalized chatbots by programming decision trees and algorithms, enabling their bots to engage in conversations, answer questions, and even tell jokes.
