About this camp

The Data Science for All Summer Program (DS4ALL) at UC Irvine teaches high school students the fundamentals of data science and machine learning. Participants will engage in hands-on activities covering data modeling, cleaning, wrangling, and visualization. The curriculum includes basic Python programming for data processing and an introduction to AI and machine learning techniques such as training, classification, and sentiment analysis. The program utilizes the open-source Apache Texera platform, providing a "no code and low code" experience to help students with limited computing backgrounds. The program culminates in a capstone project where students apply their newly acquired skills to analyze real-world data, such as social media data. Instructors include professors and Ph.D. students from UCI and UCLA who are experts in data management, data science, AI, and machine learning. Students who successfully complete the program receive a certificate, and those with good performance may be eligible for recommendation letters.
